The Pointer Dog-GPS uses SMS-messages transmitted through the GSM network to relay information. As a result the device can be used anywhere that has even a little GSM coverage available. SMS-messages do not need as strong a network coverage as speech does and the coverage doesn’t need to be continuous.
Finland:
The Saunalahti connections provided by Pointer use the Sonera GPS network, which has the most extensive coverage in Finland. Consequently the dog transmitter can be tracked even from abroad. We have successfully tracked a dog from China and USA.

Sweden and Norway:
in Sweden and Norway the Pointer Solutions Ltd. devices are equipped with Maingate-Telia connections. Maingate-Telia has the best GSM coverage.
