Pointer - Positioning Solutions

Pointer Dog-GPS, model 2004

In the autumn of 2002 Pointer Solutions Ltd. brought out a completely new technology for tracking dogs. The new Pointer Dog-GPS received a huge popularity among hunters immediately after its launch. The device already has many users.

The leading hunting magazines have conducted test on the device in Finland, Sweden and Norway. The device has been very successful in all of the tests. In Finland it was chosen as the hunting appliance of the year in a reader vote done by the Erä-lehti magazine right away. The dog owners have also been very pleased with the device.

Pointer Solutions Ltd. has decided, due to the positive feedback, to give clients 2 weeks during which they may return the device free of charge if it doesn’t function as promised.

Pointer Dog-GPS includes the dog’s GPS/GSM transmitter and the hunter’s GPS/GSM navigator. The dog’s device locates itself with the help of GPS satellites and sends the information to the hunter’s navigator using an SMS-message. On the navigator is shown, for instance, the dog’s position on the map, the distance and direction of the dog from the hunter, the state of the GPS transmitter’s battery, the dog’s speed and course, and how old the positioning information is. You can also call the dog’s transmitter and listen in on how it is doing.

Other hunters in the hunting party can also purchase their own Pointer Dog-GPS navigator and follow the movements of even all of the dogs in the party simultaneously, regardless of distances. The dog owner can decide who has the right to track his dog.

The device is very easy to use. It comes with Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian and English language settings. With the Dog-GPS the dog can be tracked much easier than with a traditional dog radar. It is no more difficult to use than a regular cell phone.
