Highly reliable

High reliability is expected of a device intended for tracking dogs. Pointer together with our partners have succeeded in making the device extremely reliable. The device has been tested and used in even the roughest terrain and conditions. The reliability is improved by for example

• the fact that it is a device which has been tested over the years
• automatic power control of the GPS module, which minimizes the power consumption, yet not weakening the performance of the GPS. The GPS is only on the power level necessary for it to function.
• the possibility to remote control the transmitter, by means of which we can programme the device even it is far away in the terrain
• an automatic new start up that prevents the device from going out, e.g. when it’s freezing and the power goes out for a short moment
• In the programme there is the possibility of monitoring the functions of the different units and adjust accordingly. In the Dog-GPS device we added a feature, by which it will be possible for the Pointer helpdesk to turn it on again. During the test period it was not necessary to test this feature in a real situation, since the Dog-GPS worked problem-free during the test period.
